Mumbai: The pace of corona epidemic is once again increasing across the country, the most impact has been seen in cities like Maharashtra, Delhi. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the increase in corona cases in the state is limited to a few districts. After a spurt in cases, the hospitalization rate is only 2-3 per cent. He said no new variant has been detected except for Omicron. He said that though the positive rate in Mumbai has reached 40 percent and the health department is taking vigil. "The increase has been observed in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Palghar and Raigad districts and testing has been increased as a precautionary measure," Tope said.

In Maharashtra, on Wednesday, 4,024 new cases of corona infection were reported in the state and due to this 2 people lost their lives. 36 percent more cases have been reported in the state as compared to yesterday. At the same time, only about 2300 new cases have been registered in Mumbai. It was told by the Health Department that due to this, four new patients infected with the BA5 variant of Corona have also been found. A day earlier, 2,956 cases were reported in Maharashtra, four patients had died. The Health Department said that four new cases of infection with BA5 form have been reported from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune and the age of the infected is between 19 and 36 years. According to the official statement, these four patients underwent corona test between May 26 and June 9 and their condition is stable at present. The department said that at present there are 19,261 patients under treatment for corona infection in the state.
