New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been shocked by the statement given by BCCI secretary Jay Shah regarding the IPL. Jay Shah had said that there will be a window time of two and a half months for the IPL in the next Future Tour Program (FTP) of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Shah had also said that the BCCI has already held discussions with the ICC apart from other cricket boards. The PCB has said that this window related to IPL will hinder other international series. PCB believes that there is a need to discuss this matter.

Talking to a media, a PCB official has said that, 'The ICC Board meeting will be held in Birmingham in July during the Commonwealth Games and the matter will probably be taken up there. The PCB is happy with the money coming into cricket, but the Indian board's plan to book major international cricketers for IPL every season may hamper international series and events. Jay Shah told PTI that, 'BCCI never felt that the base price in media rights was too high. It needs to be understood that there were 60 matches in 2018. We will have 410 matches in the next seasons. You also need to investigate digital effects. There were about 56 crore digital viewers in 2017 and this number increased to 66.5 in 2021. You are likely to see it grow even more in the years to come.

Jay Shah has told that, '94 matches will be played in IPL in 2027, we have worked on this aspect. The IPL will have an official window of two and a half months from the next ICC FTP calendar, so that all top international cricketers can participate. We have discussed with various boards as well as with the ICC.
