Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said that there is a need to help or quarrel over the horrific train accident in Odisha. But he did not say anything, but the question arises why there was no anti-collision device. "I did not want to speak, but the BJP has forced me to speak."

CM Mamata said that 59 people died when the train was set on fire during Godhra. 62 people have died in Bengal in the Odisha accident. As many as 206 people have been admitted to various hospitals in the state. 73 people are admitted in Odisha. There 56 people have been discharged.   She further said that many IAS officers are on duty in Odisha, Kharagpur, Midnapore. Whenever they are seeing that there is a patient from Bengal. Arrangements are being made for his treatment. Mamata Banerjee said that the new single system was introduced during her tenure as railway minister. There was a new single system. An anti-collision device was installed, at that time the crossing was installed in the Unman crossing. A 400-man level crossing was built.

The Bengal CM said that the present government has done nothing for the railways and has burnt the rails. She said that the name of Vande Bharat is good. That day the tree fell and was damaged. She asked if this engine is right for Vande Bharat Express. She said that the Bengal government will give Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased person. Rs 1 lakh will be given to those seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to those who are less injured.
