Mumbai: Praising a woman colleague's figure and asking her to go on a date amounts to sexual harassment, a Mumbai court has held. The court also refused to grant anticipatory bail to two employees of a real estate company accused of sexual harassment. According to reports, while hearing the bail plea of the accused of sexual assault of a woman colleague, Judge AZ Khan of the Sessions Court of Mumbai said, "This is not a case in which the accused should be granted anticipatory bail. There are many aspects to this case. In such a situation, it is necessary to take the accused into custody and interrogate them. Otherwise, the case may be affected."

The court, while pronouncing the verdict in the case, also observed that the father of one of the accused and other office staff had tried to put pressure on the victim. There is no doubt that the matter is serious and related to the dignity of a woman. At the same time, the second accused has also sexually assaulted the woman and also hurt her dignity. Not only this, dirty language has also been used in the office. On April 24, 2023, a woman employee of a real estate company had filed a complaint accusing her male colleagues of sexually harassing her. The accused works as assistant manager and sales manager in the company. On the basis of the complaint of the victim woman, the police had registered a case against the accused under sections 354A, 354D and 509 of the IPC.

The victim's counsel told the court that evidence and witnesses showed that the accused had sexually assaulted her between March 1 and April 15. Also, the accused, the woman, "Madam, you have maintained yourself. Your figure is very beautiful. Have you thought of going out with me?" At the same time, the accused have described the allegations against themselves as baseless. He has also said that efforts are being made to trap him.
