Emergency landing after engine failure of Indigo flight

New Delhi: An IndiGo flight was delayed after the pilot announced a fault  in the aircraft's engine. The flight was diverted to Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and made an emergency landing. The aircraft was on its way to Dibrugarh in Assam.

The aircraft was carrying over 150 passengers, including Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli and two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala. The aircraft landed successfully at The Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and all the passengers were safely evacuated. 

Immediately after landing, the airport administration started investigating the aircraft. Union Minister of State Rameshwar Teli said, "I was on an IndiGo flight with BJP MLAs Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala. The flight was airborne for 15 to 20 minutes before being diverted to Guwahati airport. At the moment we are all safe."
