New Delhi: The Islamic country of Qatar has condemned the alleged statement made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma regarding Prophet Mohammad. Qatar's foreign ministry said it had specifically summoned the Indian ambassador to condemn the remarks made by Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad. In a statement issued on Sunday (5 June 2022), the ministry said that Indian Ambassador to Qatar Dr Deepak Mittal was summoned today to hand over a note. It criticized the comments made by BJP leaders by Qatar.

According to the report, Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi handed over this note to Deepak Mittal. It said that the Qatar government welcomes the statement issued by the BJP leader and the decision to dissociate itself from the controversial remarks and suspend the leaders who commented on the Prophet. However, Qatar is not happy with this and wants the Indian government to publicly apologize for it. Qatar's Foreign Ministry has said that, 'Qatar expects a public apology from the Government of India and an immediate condemnation of these comments. Drawing attention that allowing such Islamophobic remarks to continue without punishment is a serious threat to the protection of human rights and may lead to further prejudice. This will create a cycle of violence and hatred.

Not only this, the Islamic country has threatened in a way that, 'These derogatory remarks will encourage religious hatred and more than two billion Muslims of the whole world will be outraged by it. This indicates a clear ignorance of the important role of Islam in the development of civilizations throughout the world, including India.' At the same time, after these statements of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indian Embassy has responded. Indian Ambassador Deepak Mittal has said that the tweets do not in any way reflect the views of the Government of India. These are the ideas of fringe elements.

The embassy further said that, 'In line with the heritage of our civilization and the strong cultural traditions of unity in diversity, the Government of India accords the highest regard to all religions.' "Strict action has already been taken against those making derogatory remarks," he said. The Indian embassy said that vested interests who are against India-Qatar relations are provoking people by using those derogatory remarks. Let us inform that today (Sunday, June 5, 2022) the BJP, in a press release, expelled Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal from the primary membership of the party. It states that the party respects all religions and is against an ideology that insults or degrades any sect or religion.
