This Independence Day on August 15, three big Hindi films are releasing simultaneously at the box office, and all eyes are on this mega clash. This time Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's "Stree 2", Akshay Kumar's "Khel Khel Mein", and John Abraham and Sharvari's "Veda" will be seen in the theatres. According to trade reports, "Stree 2" seems to be leading the box office race this time.

Tremendous buzz for 'Stree 2'

The sequel of the 2018 hit film "Stree", "Stree 2", is in tremendous discussion even before its release. The trailer and songs of the film have already won the hearts of the audience. This is why people's excitement about "Stree 2" is at its peak.

'Stree 2' rocks in advance booking

The advance booking of "Stree 2" is tremendous. According to the report of Saccanilk, more than 3 lakh 81 thousand tickets have been booked for the first day of the film so far. The film has already earned Rs 11.37 crore. "Stree 2" has broken the record of advance booking of big films like Salman Khan's "Tiger 3" and Ranbir Kapoor's "Brahmastra". Seeing such figures, it is expected that the film can make bumper earnings on the opening day.

Confidence on the opening of 'Stree 2'

Film producer and industry expert Girish Johar expects "Stree 2" to have a strong opening. He said that the filmmakers have adopted a strategy of starting advance booking early, which will give the film an edge over its competitors. Johar says that if "Stree 2" lives up to the expectations of the audience, it can earn up to Rs 20-25 crore on the first day, and a collection of even more than that is possible.

Competition between 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Veda'

Akshay Kumar's "Khel Khel Mein" and John Abraham's "Veda" are also releasing on 15 August. There is a possibility of a competition between these two films for the second position. According to the report of Saccanilk, more than 15 thousand tickets have been booked in the advance booking of "Khel Khel Mein" so far, due to which the film has earned Rs 55.33 lakh. Whereas, 23 thousand 335 tickets have been booked in the advance booking of "Veda" so far, and the film has earned Rs 56.57 lakh.

Competition and trends

Trade guru Atul Mohan says that "Veda" may have a slight edge over "Khel Khel Mein" due to its action film genre, especially in tier-2 cities. He believes that "Veda" may attract more audiences to the theatres due to its genre.

South movies also released

Not just Hindi, but two big South Indian films are also releasing on 15 August. PA Ranjith and Chiyaan Vikram's "Tangalan" and Puri Jagannadh's "Double iSmart", starring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, are releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Now it remains to be seen which film is the most successful at the box office this Independence Day and which film dominates this mega clash.
