Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his birthday today, Amitabh was born on October 11, 1962. Amitabh Bachchan is bollywood's most popular actor. He is son of poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. During the decade of 1970, he gained great popularity and has become the most prominent personality in the history of Indian cinema since then. Amitabh has won several awards in his career, including Dadasaheb Phalat Award, three National Film Awards and twelve Filmfare Awards. His name is the record of the best actor Filmfare Award. In addition to acting, Amitabh Bachchan has played a role as a playback singer, filmmaker, TV presenter and an elected member of the Indian Parliament from 1984 to 1987. Play the role of host in the popular show "Kaun Banega Crorepati". 

Amitabh Bachchan was married to actress Jaya Bhaduri. They have two children, Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan is a well-known actor who has been married to former Vishsundari and Ektrace Aishwarya Rai. Born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, kayastha family, Amitabh Bachchan's father, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a famous Hindi poet, while his mother, Fast Bachchan, belonged to the Karachi city of undivided India, which is now in Pakistan. Initially, Amit Ji was named Inquilaab, which was taken from the inspiring phrase ' Inakab Zindabad ' used during the Indian freedom struggle. But later on, the popular poet Sumitnandan Pant named him ' Amitabh '. 'Amitabh' means "eternal light". Although his surname was Srivastava and he belongs to the Kayastha caste, his father quoted this surname as Bachchan who published his works. It is his surname with which he used it in films and for all public purposes. Now it has become the surname of all the members of his family.

Amitabh is the eldest of the two sons of Harivansh Rai Bachchan. His second son's name is Ajini. His mother was very interested in Bachchan's theatre and was also offered a role in the film but he liked to be a housewife. His mother also had some contribution in the election of Amitabh's career because he always insisted that he should make the centre stage his career. The same Bachchan's father passed away in 2003 while his mother died on December 21, 2007. Bachchan has double M.A.  He studied at Gyan Prabodani and Boys High School (BHS) of Allahabad and then sherwood College, Nainital, where he was admitted to the Faculty of Arts. Amitabh later went to Chiromal College, University of Delhi to study where he graduated from science. In his 20s, Bachchan left the job of a hire broker at bird & Co,a shipping firm in Kolkata, to try his career in acting. And with this, Amitabh has made many successes in his film career.
