Before the same Bhargava, Malini Gaur, Krishnamurari Moghe, Uma Shashi Sharma, Kailash Vijayvargiya have been elected mayors of BJP by the people. The youngest candidate among them is Pushyamitra Bhargava.
The name of Dr. Nishant Khare was running for the same mayor's post. But due to his being outsider, he was out of the race. Apart from this, there was a lot of brainstorming about the names of party's strong leaders Ramesh Mendola, Umesh Sharma, Gaurav Randive, Manoj Dwivedi, Golu Shukla etc. In this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State President VD Sharma, State Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma gave major approval. Similarly, the opinion of party leaders associated with the top leadership including Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kailash Vijayvargiya was also taken. Although the situation changed several times regarding the names, but then the final agreement was made on the name of Pushyamitra Bhargava and the announcement was made.
