New Delhi: In the last 13 months, Team India has suffered defeat in two T20 World Cups and one in the Asia Cup of the same format. There has been a lot of discussion regarding the need to bring in more attacking players in India's T20 squad after their dismal performances in all three multi-nation tournaments. Apart from this, discussions have started once again to change the captain, but former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh believes that the support staff also needs to be changed.

Harbhajan Singh further said that India should look at bringing in recently retired players like Ashish Nehra into the coaching setup, who along with current head coach Rahul Dravid can come up with modern-day tactics. Harbhajan didn't say it directly, but he hinted that Nehra is a better coach than Dravid for India's T20 team. Talking to the media, Harbhajan Singh said, 'In T20 format you can have a player like Ashish Nehra, who has recently retired from cricket. Nehra is also well aware that Rahul Dravid has years of experience as both have played together for a long time.'

Harbhajan Singh said that Nehra also has a lot of knowledge, but T20 is a difficult format. Someone who has played this format recently is better suited for coaching in T20. I am not saying that you should drop KL Rahul from the T20 team. Ashish and Rahul can work together to build this team for the 2024 World Cup. Let us tell you that left-arm fast bowler Ashish Nehra retired from international cricket in 2017. He helped Gujarat Titans win the IPL 2022 trophy in his very first assignment as head coach of the high-profile team. He was earlier associated with the support staff of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Harbhajan said that 'With this type of arrangement it is also easy for Rahul Dravid, who can take a rest from some tours and Ashish can work in his absence.'
