London: Former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh compares Hardik Pandya to South Africa's Lance Klusener's 1999 World Cup performance. He said that this Indian all-rounder has the ability to play big shots whose opposing captains have no answer. Pandya had 48 runs in 27 balls against Australia at The Oval, and India won the match by 36 runs.

According to the information, Waugh said, "Hardik's innings will shock the opposing teams. The player could be equal to the Klusener who played in the 1999 World Cup. Most of the players batting like at the end of their innings have the ability to start their innings in that manner. Defending his big shot would be tough for the opposing captains.
Pandya, with the help of four fours and three sixes, played a dramatic knock which reminded Waugh of the overplaying of the Banye hand Klusener in the World Cup of 1999. In England, the World Cup, which was 20 years ago, became the Clugener man of the series. He had scored 281 runs at a strike rate of 122.17 which was phenomenal before the T20 round.
