Hard hitting Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera has been named the captain for the ODI series against India, that begins from December 10 at Dharamsala. He will also lead the T20 side, later on in the series. Sri Lanka who suffer 11 consecutive loss in the ODI which depreciate their confidence but they would love to break this lossing streaks.

 

Prior to this series, Former Captain of Sri Lanka Upul Thranga was handed over the responsibility of the leading Lanka, but failed miserably against Pakistan as his side lost 5-0 in the ODIs and 3-0 in the T20Is. Opening batsmen of Sri Lanka Upul Tharanga, though has done well with the bat this year scoring 800 runs in the ODIs. Not just performance related issues, but Tharanga had got into trouble due to slow over rates twice, and was later suspended. He had also refused to be a part of the third T20I against Pakistan, that was scheduled to take place in Lahore.

 

In the ongoing Test series, Sri Lanka trails 1-0, as they suffered a humiliating defeat by an innings and 239 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin was the wrecker-in-chief and claimed eight wickets in the entire match. To go with that, India had four centurions—Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma. The visitor would looking for revenge against the host in the third and final Test which will take place in Delhi, that begins on December 2.
