On Monday, the Karnataka government said that people coming into the state from Tamil Nadu and Delhi will have to remain in institutional quarantine for three days. After this, they will have to remain in isolation at home for 11 days.

Earlier the government has made seven days institutional quarantine mandatory for those returning from Maharashtra, while it is not mandatory for those returning from other states who do not have symptoms of corona infection. However, those coming from other states other than Maharashtra have been asked to quarantine at home. While speaking to the media, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said, 'Those returning from Maharashtra will have to stay in 7 days of institutional quarantine and 7 days of home quarantine. Those coming from Chennai and Delhi will have to stay in 3 days of institutional and 11 days of home quarantine.' He said, 'This decision has been taken in view of increasing cases of corona infection in the state. The cases of corona infection in the state are increasing due to people coming from outside and not from within the state.

The country has hot spots of Coronavirus in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi. On Monday, 73 deaths and 1647 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Delhi. The total number of positive cases in the national capital has now risen to 42,829 and the death toll has reached 1400. On the other hand, in Maharashtra, 178 deaths were recorded on Monday with 2786 corona cases. The total number of cases in the state is now 110744 of which 56049 have gone home from the hospital, while there are a total of 4128 deaths. Tamil Nadu reported 1,843 coronavirus cases and 44 deaths on Monday. The total number of cases in the state is now 46,504, of which 25,344 have been discharged and 20,678 are active cases. These include 479 deaths.
