Bengaluru: Three Karnataka BJP MLAs have written a letter to the state Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. Through this letter, they have made a demand. In this case, they requested for withdrawal of police cases registered against Hindu activists in three cases of communal violence between 013 and 2018. The MLAs include Tharthahalli MLA Araga Jananendra, VIrajpet MLA KG Bopaiah and Karwar MLA Rupali Naik.

In his letter, Janendra wrote that more than 300 Hindu activists were detained in November 2014 in connection with protests demanding police action in connection with the suspected death of a minor girl. "More than 300 innocent Hindu youths who wage daily were booked by the police under political pressure. You are requested to order withdrawal of these cases. '

The girl's death and police complaint took a political shape when the BJP launched an agitation against the ruling Congress. The BJP had alleged that the police was trying to save the suspects as they identified themselves with the minority community. The government had handed over the probe to the state's MID, while the BJP was demanding a CBI probe. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as Chief Minister on July 26 after the JD(S) government collapsed in Karnataka.
