During a search operation, three naxals were arrested by security forces in insurgency-hit Sukma district.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sukma, Santosh Singh, said, "A joint team of Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF's) 230th battalion and district police rounded up the cadres while undertaking the search operation in the interior forests under Gadiras police station area last evening" .

The trio have been spotted by security forces while seal off Gondpalli and Korra village forests and caught them before they could escape into deep jungles.

They are identified as Rawa Joga (25), Banjam Budra (22) and Sodhi Hunga (35) who were active as the members of 'Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangh (DAKMS)'- a front wing of the outlawed CPI (Maoist).

The ASP added, that the trio were involved in looting the polling materials from Etapal polling booth of the region during last year Panchayat elections and in other incidents of criminal offences.
