Chandigarh: Three prisoners from Amritsar Central Jail escaped after breaking the wall on Saturday, ie late on 1 February 2020. The escape of the prisoners was revealed on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at the time when the prisoners were attended. It is also learned that the escaped prisoners broke the prison wall and made their way to escape. The three carried out the incident at around 3 pm on Saturday night.

At the same time, it has been learned that two brothers, Gurpreet Singh Gopi and Jarnail Singh, who were lodged in Amritsar Jail, were involved in the theft case, while the third prisoner Vishal Sharma was facing trial in the rape case. But there is also a discussion that Vishal Sharma made a plan to escape from the jail because he was upset for a long time about the hanging of the convicts in the Nirbhaya case. He felt that he might also be hanged in the case of rape. At the same time, it has been learned that after the jail administration gave information about the escape of the prisoners, Amritsar police have started a blockade in the area and started searching for the prisoners. Meanwhile, the administration is also making strict inquiries from the staff on duty in the jail on Saturday night.
