New Delhi: In the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Sunday brought a lot of thrill to the fans when in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, three super overs were played between the teams. This is the first time in IPL history that the teams have played two super overs. There are tremendous reactions to this on social media.

On this, former India team explosive batsman Virender Sehwag tweeted that "Din Ek, Super over Do. Bahut Nainsaafi hai. The best thing of 2020, the Indian Premier League for a reason. #MIvsKXIP". On the superb fielding and batting of Manik Aggarwal in the Super Over, he tweeted that "Agarwal Ji Ka Jawaab Nahi. Great save on the boundary and doing it with calmness with the Universe Boss in the second super over. What a Sunday ! #MIvsKXIP".

The first Super Over of the day was played against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Playing his first match of the season, Lockie Ferguson took the wickets of David Warner (00) and Abdul Samad (02) to restrict Hyderabad to just two runs. In response, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan scored three runs to make Kolkata victorious.

The second match of the day saw an uproar between Mumbai Indians and Punjab. With the help of Jasprit Bumrah's fine bowling in the first super over, the Punjab team could score only five runs. Shami sacrificed for the Punjab team and did not let in-form Quinton Dickock and Rohit Sharma score six runs to win and sent the match back to another super over.

This time Chris Jordan was given the ball from KXIP and he gave away 11 runs in this over. Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal came to the crease from Punjab to chase the target, while Mumbai fast bowler Trent Boult was given the responsibility of bowling. Gayle hit a six on the first ball and then took a run. Mayank then gave the team the victory by hitting two fours in the next two balls.
