TikTok the short video-sharing app informed on Monday that it had signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment. With the deal the Tik Tok users can have access to Sony`s portfolio of music including global artists such as Beyonce, Martin Garrix and Harry Styles. The deal also allows Sony Music to use TikTok`s platform,which is a home to several viral internet trends and where emerging artists have garnered fans quickly, to promote its artists.

The partnership comes a day after the The U.S. Commerce Department has informed recently that it would "vigorously defend" an executive order that demands a bar on transactions with Chinese-owned TikTok after a federal judge halted the action. The partnership announcement comes a day after this announcement by the US Commerce Department.

Previously, TikTok has signed similar deals with UK-based non-profit Merlin earlier this year. These deals are in a way to expand its music library and a multi-year partnership with Paris-based Believe, a music platform for independent artists, in July. Tik Tok is constantly involved in enhanced user experience so that it retains the existing customer base and can attract new bunch.
