Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K Stalin today, May 11, reshuffled his cabinet making changes to the portfolio of five ministers including Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.

Palanivel Thiaga Rajan was relieved to information technology and digital services after being freed of the Finance responsibility. Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan was replaced by Thangam Thennarasu, who was assigned the finance, planning, and human resources management responsibilities.

There were speculations about the reshuffle post a controversy regarding the minister.

PTR Thiagarajan, the state's minister of finance, has lost the trust of the first family, and it's possible that he may soon lose his portfolio and be demoted to a position of less responsibility.

An audio tape allegedly of Thiagarajan was leaked in which he was heard saying that Stalin's son Udayanidhi and the Chief Minister's son-in-law Sabareesan had minted money to the tune of thousands of crores.

On the supposed audio cassette, K. Annamalai, the head of the Tamil Nadu BJP, had harsh words for the Chief Minister and his family.

Thiagarajan has vehemently refuted  this and said that Artificial Intelligence was used to doctor his voice.

This come  seven days after PTR’s name was dropped from the list of speakers at DMK events in district headquarters and major towns across the state on Sunday. This led to rumours of internal party reforms.
