Author Virat Vilas Pawar released his first novel in 2019, named “Heroes of Wars” which is a Sci-fi version of Mahabharata, and after a gap of one and a half years, he released his second novel - “Vidyadhara & The Universe Of Magic” which is another superhero Sci-fi novel. The novel was planned to release in 2020, but during the lockdown, while he was home, just like everybody else, he decided to do multiple edits to the draft. The original word count of the novel was 1,20,000 words, but then the word count was cut down to 76,000 words because he wanted to bring more in less!

Talking about the comic-style character illustrations in the novel, Virat says that he wants to give his audience the image of characters that he has in his mind so that they can imagine the characters the way they actually are.

Virat realized that the Indian Superhero market is quite scattered, although there is a lot of craze for DC and Marvel movies, the Indian content creators don’t have much space, and the Indian audience does not have much of Indian Superheroes. Hence, to reach out to the Indian audience and to give a platform to the Indian creators, he started ‘VirArt Studios’ which is a production house that focuses on creating more Indian sci-fi superhero content. Although by profession, Virat is an advocate, and by passion, he is an author.

When asked about the Indian superheroes and the reaction towards it, Virat says that most of the attempts made by Bollywood were not much appreciated by the audience, however, ‘Minnal Murali’ did a good job and garnered a good audience. I am trying to give more such quality to my audience. My main focus is story over everything else.

Virat says that he wants to give the audience a taste of Indianness in the novel. He says that they should feel that these things are happening around them. Every person should relate to it and just as any ordinary person who is working from 9-5 or is doing business can relate to it.

Virat Vilas Pawar promises to bring more Indian superheroes in the near future and is in constant efforts trying to expand his team of VirArt Studios so that in the future, we can expect some live action!
