The Congress on Tuesday appealed to Twitter to take similar action against these leaders in the alleged 'Covid Toolkit' case, citing tweets by 11 Union ministers, which are carried out in 'manipulated media' (tampered facts) and other cases of forgery. Congress General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has sent urls of tweets by Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prahlad Joshi, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Thaawarchand Gehlot, Harshvardhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat through a letter to the management of Twitter India and demanded action.

In a letter to the Twitter management, Surjewala said that the criteria adopted for "misusing twitter platform to disseminate fake content" and action in other cases of 'manipulated media' should also be adopted in the tweets of these ministers. At present, there is no response from these senior Ministers and the BJP to the Congress decision.
