Srinagar: Security forces have achieved great success in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, during an encounter in the Malura Parimpora area of Srinagar last Monday evening, the army killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Nadeem Abrar. Besides, two more terrorists are also said to have collapsed. But two jawans including an officer of the CRPF were also injured in the encounter. An official in the case said that Abrar was involved in several killings and terrorist activities along the Srinagar Baramulla border. Briefing all of you in the matter, Jammu and Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar said, "The Army had received special inputs about the terrorists who attacked the highway.''

Keeping in view the seriousness of the input, Joint Checks of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were set up along the highway. He further said, "A train was stopped at Pariampora Naka and they were asked for identity. Meanwhile, the man in the mask in the back seat tried to open his bag and took out the grenade. Seeing this, the NAKA team also swung into action and caught the person in the back seat.'' According to him, both the driver and the man in the back seat were caught and taken to the police station, and after taking off their mask here, it was found that he was a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander terrorist Abrar. He was then kept for questioning by JKP, CRPF, and the army. A pistol and grenade were also recovered from him.

On constant interrogation by JKP, CRPF, and joint army teams, he revealed that 'he had kept his AK-47 rifle in a house in Malura.' He further said, "After his revelations, Abrar was taken to the house to recover the weapons by properly cordoning off the suspicious house in Malura. As soon as the team entered the house to recover the alleged weapon, an associate of Abrar, a Pakistani terrorist (about whom Abrar did not disclose anything), opened fire on the team. Meanwhile, three jawans of CRPF were injured in the initial encounter and terrorist Abrar, who was accompanying the search team, had an encounter. Meanwhile, the rest of the team took the lead. The house was firmly cordoned off and retaliated by JKP, CRPF, and army personnel. At the end of the firing, a foreign terrorist firing from inside the house collapsed and Abrar was also killed.''
