Toyota has launched a five-part manga series to honour the company's best-selling model Corolla's 50 millionth unit sold. With 12 models, the Toyota Corolla has spanned more than five decades of manufacturing. The first Corolla was released in the late 1960s, at a period of tremendous economic expansion.

Since the 1960s, the manga comic series has included pictures of Corolla models from each decade. These amusing cartoons are based on real-life images of Corolla owners, and the actual photographs may be seen at the conclusion of each comic strip. Corolla was founded with the aim of'making cars for everyone,' according to the carmaker, during a period when having a car was confined to a certain group of people.

Corolla E10 was the name of the first-generation vehicle. The Toyota Corolla is available in a variety of body styles, including hatchback, sedan, coupe, waggon, and minivan. This improved the model's appeal, which led to its adoption in markets all over the world, including Japan.

Toyota has launched a unique '50 Million Edition' version for its waggon, hatchback, and sedan types to commemorate the 50 millionth Corolla sold, albeit these special editions will only be available in Japan.

The model from the carmaker has come a long way since the 1960s. For the extremely demanding SUV sector, Toyota now provides the Corolla Cross, a crossover variant. A hybrid version of the latter is also available. Toyota is now preparing to launch the Toyota GR Corolla in the United States, which was teased last year.

Toyota is also intending to create its own software operating system for its vehicles by 2025, according to Nikkei.
