Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a world-renowned automobile manufacturer, has announced to resume manufacturing operations at its Bidadi plant in Karnataka from 26 May 2020. The company will follow all the guidelines issued by the central and state government so that safety is maintained. The work has been started in a phased manner and company officials are constantly monitoring the situation and will evaluate and expand the work.
Currently, more than 290 Toyota dealerships and 230 service centres are operating across India. The company is first supplying spare parts in areas where service centres have reopened. Toyota says that according to government protocols, all dealerships will operate with a fixed percentage of the workforce. During this, they will follow social distancing, ensuring the health and safety of all their employees.
In his statement, Raju B. Ketkale, deputy managing director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "We thank the government for the resumption of work. With this, we along with our suppliers and dealer partners make it difficult for our trusted employees The watch expresses heartfelt gratitude for starting the work again with full hard work. We took more time while starting the operation again, as we wanted to be more careful in starting the work. This would ensure that the workplace and it is safe for us to resume work around it. It is very important for us to be physically and mentally fit. We do not want to endanger it at any cost. Following the guidelines. We are running a 'Restart Manual' to ensure its success before re-starting our workforce. To reduce the number of employees in the workplace, most of our office workers currently work from home are doing.''
