New Delhi: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a trade association, has written a letter to Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. In this letter, they asked the Union Minister to completely ban the festive season sale of E-commerce companies. The organization has accused these e-commerce companies of selling products at very cheap prices and with huge discounts. CAIT in its letter has cited the revised FDI policy, 2016 in 2018. CAIT has even demanded a ban on the sale of e-commerce companies.

It has also said that there should be an inquiry into how these companies are violating FDI norms. The organization's national general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that under the revised FDI policy it is clearly written that this e-commerce are online marketplaces and they can only do business according to norms. It is written in the letter that these companies cannot sell goods directly to the consumer.

The organization has written in a letter to the Minister of Commerce that e-commerce companies operating as marketplaces under the FDI policy will not affect the price of goods or services in any way and will maintain the level playing field of all. He said that e-commerce companies are offering 10 to 80 per cent discount. Explain that since the arrival of e-commerce companies, the business has become difficult for these businesses in the market. They have to bear the brunt of it, especially in the festive season.
