Tragic Blast in Cracker Factory Kills Six in Madhya Pradesh's Harda

Tragedy struck in Madhya Pradesh's Harda as a blast ripped through a cracker factory, claiming six lives and injuring 30 others. The incident occurred in the Bairagarh locality, leaving 60 houses destroyed and forcing the evacuation of over 100 nearby residences. The explosion also affected more than three dozen commuters.

Dr. Manish Sharma, the civil surgeon of Harda, confirmed the casualties, stating that the death toll may rise as the situation unfolds. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kanchan described the blast as massive, engulfing the city in black smoke. Firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call, though the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Initial reports suggest around 100 laborers were present in the factory at the time of the explosion. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav convened an emergency meeting following the tragedy and dispatched Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Ajit Kesari, and Deputy General Home Guard Arvind Kumar to assess the situation via helicopter.

Preparations are underway at medical facilities, including Bhopal's Medical College and AIIMS Bhopal's burn unit, to handle the influx of casualties. Additionally, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are en route to provide assistance at the site.
