Patna: In Muzaffarpur, a tragic accident claimed the lives of three people and left eight others injured as an out-of-control auto collided with a truck at Ballia Chowk on the Fakuli Overbridge. The victims, who had just completed a holy dip in the Ganga and were on their way home, were involved in this harrowing incident.
This disturbing event highlights the persistent danger of speeding in Muzaffarpur. The collision left the auto completely mangled, resulting in the immediate deaths of two men and a woman on the spot. Eight others, who sustained serious injuries, are yet to be identified, creating a distressing scene. Local residents near the accident site promptly alerted the police.
The police responded swiftly, taking custody of the deceased and transporting them for post-mortem examinations. The deceased and the injured hailed from Sitamarhi and were urgently transported to SKMCH for medical intervention.
Reports indicate that the group had journeyed from Sonpur after participating in the Kartik Purnima festivities. Tragically, as they approached Rajla, an adjacent parked truck went unnoticed by the auto driver due to oncoming vehicle lights, resulting in the catastrophic collision.
Describing the scene, ASI Anish Kumar of Fakuli OP mentioned the collision involving an uncontrolled auto and a truck resulting in the immediate loss of three lives and leaving over half a dozen people wounded. He added that all the injured people were promptly admitted to the hospital and have been put under medical observation for necessary medical care.
