Jabalpur: A goods train derailed in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh after the Balasore train accident in Orissa. Two wagons of a goods train carrying LPG rakes derailed at Shahpura Bhitoni in Jabalpur. According to the CPRO of West Central Railway, the accident occurred when the goods train was put on unloading.  

Last night, two wagons of a goods train carrying LPG rakes derailed due to being kept for unloading. Due to this, the mainline movement of trains was not affected. The movement of trains on the main line is normal. Repair work has started after sunrise in the presence of siding officers. The siding owner has issued a fitness certificate. On June 2, at least 288 people were killed and over 1,000 injured when three trains collided in Odisha's Balasore. The railways said preliminary investigation suggested that the accident could have been caused by a signalling interference.  

A preliminary report of the accident said the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Coromandel Express and a goods train met with an accident on three different tracks at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district. In the accident on Friday evening, 17 coaches of the two passenger trains derailed and were severely damaged. The CBI registered an FIR on Tuesday, the fourth day of the incident, and started investigation. A six-member CBI team inspected the tracks and the signal room on Tuesday. At the same time, the bodies of many people who lost their lives in the accident are still lying in the morgues of the hospitals as their identity could not be ascertained.
