The World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia will be played at The Oval on Wednesday. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the only spinner selected by India, while KS Bharat kept the wicket in front of Ishan Kishan.

It is difficult to exclude Ashwin, Rohit added. It is not a wonderful occasion to leave him out, but you have to do what is best for the squad under the circumstances. He has been a match-winner for us.

The defeated 2021 finalists have reactivated veteran Ajinkya Rahane to strengthen their batting order against the first-time WTC finalist Australia. Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, stated that on a pitch that promised significant bounce, he too would have liked to bowl first.

Josh Hazlewood, an injured fast bowler, was replaced by Scott Boland in the Australian team. "It (the pitch) appears to have some grass on it. Boland's inclusion, according to Cummins, "will undoubtedly be a weapon."

Teams: India (captain: Rohit Sharma), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, wicketkeeper: KS Bharat, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj

David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Pat Cummins (captain), Alex Carey (wicketkeeper), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland are all members of the Australian team.
