Varanasi: A major accident has been reported in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. A pickup full of workers overturned uncontrollably in front of the Samanta Hotel on the highway in Lanka police station area of the district. Four persons died on the spot in the fatal accident. All the dead are women. Around 30 labourers are said to be injured in the accident. One of them is in critical condition.

The workers were full in the open cast of the pickup. As soon as the hospitality approached the hotel, the pickup went out of control and overturned. There was an outcry on the spot as the pickup overturned. People gathered around. The police were informed as soon as the labourers were evacuated safely. The injured, who reached the spot by the Lankan police, are being admitted to the trauma centre hospital BHU.

Four women labourers have been confirmed dead so far. While 30 people have been reported injured. One of which is serious. The number of injured is likely to increase now. Nine children were among the injured. Police have currently seized the bodies of the deceased and rushed them to the hospital for postmortem and started investigating the case.
