BANGALORE: In a bid to provide a spectacular view of the airport akin to Singapore's Changi Airport, Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport will soon come up with two 4- metre high ‘Garden Pavilions’ for international travellers.

The sources state that Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) will build two "Garden Pavilions" in Terminal 2's (T2) international area. They will offer a full-circle panorama of the airport.

The Garden Pavilions provide a great viewing area for passengers to watch aircraft take off and land. Additionally, a 20-meter-tall colossal sculpture will be located close by the garden pavilion in the T2 woodland belt.

According to Hari Marar, MD and CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), the unique vantage point would offer excellent 360-degree views for travellers to take in the bustling bustle of the airport.

The T2 airport will take over handling international flights at Bangalore Airport starting in September. A restaurant facility will be accessible to foreign travelers at a level of 32 metres, in addition to the garden pavilions located at a height of 40 metres.

The garden pavilions for BIAL will be built by the Bangalore-based company Milestone. Milestone, a company based in Bangalore, will be in charge of carrying out the project. The two pavilions will resemble a bamboo basket turned upside down. A Milestone representative informed Moneycontrol that the first garden pavilion is almost finished and the second is halfway finished.

From tree top outdoor lounges to exhibition halls, The Garden Pavilions will provide various amenities for its patrons. Modern and cutting-edge watering technology is available for the pavilion, and it will be controlled by a mobile app.

BIAL gathered up to 6 lakh plants from various biological areas in India to further the garden-based theme of Terminal 2 of the International Airport with Garden Pavilions. These plants will become rooted to the green lagoons, walls, and other structures. It is noteworthy that the airport's Terminal 2 was dubbed the "Terminal in a Garden." The subject was chosen primarily to capture the essence of Bangalore, often known as the Garden City. The metropolis embodies a harmonious blend of growth, modernism, and cherished traditions. The T2 terminal cost 5,000 crore rupees to construct, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened it in 2022.
