New Delhi: Hearing on the petition of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Sharjil Imam, arrested in the case of inflammatory speech, was heard on Friday. Sharjeel in his petition has demanded that the cases filed in different states should be run at the same place and an investigation by an agency. Recently, the Delhi Police has also filed a case of treason on Sharjeel.

The Delhi Police allege that Sharjil Imam gave a provocative speech, causing violence in many areas of Delhi including Jamia Milia Islamia. Several cases were registered in this state in various states of Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi. UAPA has also been imposed on him. Advocate Siddharth Dave, appearing for Sharjeel Imam in the top court, said that a case has been registered against me in five states. Is based on two statements (one in Jamia and one in Aligarh). I did not even upload it, but was uploaded by someone else. We need relief like Arnab Goswami.

On this, Judge Bhushan said that there is nothing wrong in registering an FIR on behalf of the police. If they come to know about some cognizable offense. Is any person present on behalf of NCT. An answer has been summoned from the NCT in this matter. Now the case will be heard after 10 days.
