New Delhi: The trial of India Biotech's corona vaccine vaccine on children will begin soon at AIIMS Hospital in the country's capital Delhi. The ethics committee of the hospital is expected to get clearance soon after which the trial will be started. In May, the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) allowed phase 2 and 3 clinical trials of children.
The trial of corona vaccine for children in India is set to begin in Delhi AIIMS soon after it was allowed to trial. The trial has to be allowed from the ethics committee of the hospital before the clinical trial, which begins only after it is received. According to Dr Sanjay Rai, principal investigator of the trial in AIIMS, it is likely to be received soon after which the trials will begin.
In this trial, the children are divided into three groups. The first group is 12 to 18 years, in which volunteers of the clinical trial of this age group will be given vaccine supplements. This will be followed by children between the ages of 6 and 12 and then children between the ages of 2 and 6 years involved in the vaccine trial. Children's trials will be the same as that of elders.
