New Delhi: The Delhi-based Kejriwal government's drug controller told the high court on Thursday that gautam gambhir foundation has been found guilty of unauthorized hoarding, buying and distributing Fabiflu, a drug used in the treatment of corona virus patients.
The drug controller asked the court to take action against the accused foundation, drug dealers in the case without any delay. The court was told that MLA Praveen Kumar has also been found guilty of similar offences under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The court directed the drug controller to file a status report on the progress of the cases within six weeks and posted the matter for further hearing on July 29.
Just three days ago, the Delhi High Court had reprimanded the drug regulator for not properly examining the drug collection case on behalf of Gambhir. The court rejected the status report of the drug regulator filed in connection with the probe and said the court's confidence in the institution has been shaken. The court had said that it was known to everyone that there was a shortage of this medicine and the needy could not get the medicine on that day as Gambhir had purchased thousands of leaves of the medicine.
