Jaipur: Tribal Suraksha Manch organized a Mahasammelan on Sunday (April 24, 2022) at Dussehra Maidan in Kushalgarh, Banswara, Rajasthan. During this the issue of conversion of tribals was raised vigorously. The office bearers of the forum in one voice asked the people who convert to another religion to leave the reservation under the tribal quota. Along with this, there was also a demand to expel the converts from the society.

According to the report, Banshilal Katara, who attended the program as the chief guest, said that the tribals have been protecting the religion from the beginning. We will protect Dhuni, Dham and Dharmadhwaja. He announced a movement from road to Parliament and from Sarpanch to MP on the issue of protection of tribes. Katara says that in Article 341 and 342 of the Constitution, there is a provision to issue a list to the President for the reservation and protection of SC / ST, Indian and state wise. According to this, people who have left their religion and become Christian and Muslim cannot be given the facility of reservation under SC quota.

However, he also said that such people can be included in the list of ST. Whenever tribals convert to Christianity, they are called Indian Christians. So they come under the category of minorities. In this way, they take advantage of both Christian and Muslim religions. It was also mentioned during the discussion that in 1968, former MP Karthik Oraon had claimed through a study that 5 percent of the Christians of the country are taking advantage of state grants from the ST quota, sometimes more than 62 percent of India. Similarly, the leaders of the BJP's Tribal Front had also raised the demand to exclude tribals who adopted Christian and Muslim religions from the benefits of reservation.
