Trichy: Three men have been arrested for printing counterfeit currency. Police have seized fake notes worth Rs 14.13 lakh and some machines including a printer in Trichy.

 After getting tip of counterfeit currency notes were being printed inside a house in KK Nagar, trichey police took the action and arrested the accused.  On the basis of the information received, the police raided a house in that locality early morning yesterday. The search party was led by Inspector Radhakrishnan. They found a scanner and a colour printer, using which fake currencies of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denominations were being printed by three people.

In enquiry. police learnt that the three included 36-year-old Badsha, belonging to Kamaraj Nagar, Ponnamaravathi, in Pudukkottai district, 26-year-old Raja Sabareesh from Pattukkottai, Tanjavur district, and 34-year-old Kanakakraj, a resident of Kajamalai, Trichy.

A case was registered against the three under three different sections of the Indian Penal Code, including printing of counterfeit currency and distribution of fake notes in circulation. The three were remanded in custody after recovering from the fake currency notes worth Rs 14.13 lakh, a scanner, a printing machine, a motorcycle and cutting machine.
