Agartala: The small state of Tripura located in the northeast of India is quite beautiful. This state, ruled under a red flag for decades, has now become saffron-bound. With this, the new state government has decided to build 51 temples to promote tourism. These will be replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths. A senior state government official said that helicopter service has also been started to see the rock-cut idols on Devtamura and Unakoti hills from the sky.

The official said that the state government has already allotted 14.22 acres of land at Phulkumari in Gomti district for replication of Shaktipeeths. This place is just three kilometers away from the famous Tripureswari temple, one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. Shaktipeeths are important shrines and centers of reverence for Shakti worshipers. CM office official said, there are a total of 51 Shaktipeeths. Of these, 38 are in India, six in Bangladesh, three in Nepal, two in Pakistan, two each in Tibet and Sri Lanka.

It is not possible for the common people to see all the Shaktipeeths. Therefore, Tripura tourism department has decided to make a replica of these Shaktipeeths near the Tripureswari temple in Udaipur. He has said that the tourism department has prepared a primary plan of Rs 44 crore to replicate 51 Shaktipeeths and the proposal for funding has been sent to the 15th Finance Commission. The state tourism department has started a helicopter service from September 1 to see the rock-cut artifacts at Devamura in Gomti district and Unakoti in Unakoti district from the sky. Tripura has more Bengali-speaking people.
