Kolkata: Rajiv Banerjee, who joined BJP before the West Bengal assembly elections, has once again joined the TMC. Rajiv Banerjee re-joined the party led by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Sunday. In fact, TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Tripura's capital Agartala on Sunday. This led to Rajiv Banerjee and former BJP leader Ashish Das suppressing the TMC.

Rajiv Banerjee claimed that he made a big mistake by joining the BJP. "I am grateful to Abhishek Banerjee and Mamata Banerjee for allowing me to join the party again. Attacking the BJP, Rajiv Banerjee claimed that the party has created a breathtaking image. Banerjee alleged, "Before joining the BJP, there were many promises made on employment and agriculture, which have not yet been fulfilled.''

He further claimed that the BJP's agenda is to win votes and do religious politics. He said, "I also want to see the agriculture sector growing and employment for the youth. I had spoken to the Central leadership, if they want to develop the industry, they should reopen the Dunlap factory. But his only agenda was to get votes. Rajiv Banerjee said, "BJP'S main agenda was religious politics. It was too late when I decided to leave.''
