Washington: US President Donald Trump has taken a big step to make his stern attitude against China even stronger. For repressive activities against the people of Hong Kong, Trump has signed the Hong Kong Autonomy Act enacting sanctions against China.

According to the information received, Trump said while addressing the media on Tuesday, "Today I have signed the law and executive order and blamed China for its oppressive actions against the people of Hong Kong". Trump said he had signed the Hong Kong Autonomy Act in the afternoon, which would give strong powers to hold China accountable. In this step, Trump administration will be allowed to impose sanctions against foreign individuals and banks supporting China.

The Act has been signed after two weeks of the Hong Kong Security Act coming into force. Trump said, 'This rule empowers my administration to hold individuals and institutions responsible for ending Hong Kong independence. We all know what has happened, there is not a good situation in Hong Kong. It has been known that China has taken away people's freedom and rights.'
