Ankara: Turkey's Ministry of Defense has said that Turkish security forces have killed at least 277 Kurdish fighters in a major military operation in northeast Syria. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the offensive is aimed at removing Kurdish-led forces from the border region and creating a 'safe zone' to repatriate millions of Syrian refugees.

Turkey's Ministry of Defense gave information about the first fatal attack on Turkish troops on Friday, while fierce fighting between Turkish forces and the SDF is going on in Syrian border cities. Putin says that Turkey's operation in Syria has put the terrorist organization Islamic State in danger of growing again. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Turkey's military operations in Syria could re-energize the ISIL organization in the region.

Russian President Putin has said that the Kurds who were imprisoning thousands of ISIL prisoners are now fleeing. Putin said on his tour to Turkmenistan that "I do not believe whether the Turkish army will be able to take it under control - and how soon," "it is a great danger for us."
