New Delhi: Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has added turn-by-turn navigation to the Diavel V4 and DesertX models. For the system to work, the rider needs to link the official Ducati smartphone app to the instrument panel of the motorcycle.

Both new and returning customers can purchase this feature as an additional option. The bike maker will soon incorporate the feature with its other products.

In the ADV and power cruiser segments, Ducati introduced the DesertX and Diavel V4 last year in global markets including India. Both the motorcycles feature powerful engines and a variety of electronic riding aids.

However, the venerable bike maker has now chosen to upgrade both the offerings with a new turn-by-turn navigation feature in response to the surge in demand for connected technology.

There is a muscular 21-litre fuel tank, split-type seats, twin-pod LED headlight, raked windscreen, bash plate, sleek LED taillight, side-slung exhaust, 5.0-inch TFT instrument cluster and heavy-duty wire-spoke wheels. All Ducati DesertX Features.

The ADV gets disc brakes, cornering ABS, riding modes, wheelie control, traction control, fully adjustable 46mm KYB inverted front forks and rear mono-shock unit.

Powering the Ducati DesertX is the 937cc, liquid-cooled, Testastrata L-twin engine that produces a maximum output of 110 horsepower and 92 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed gearbox with bi-directional quick-shifter is mated to the engine.

The mighty 20-litre fuel tank, split-type seats, upswept quad-tip exhaust, full-colour TFT instrument cluster, designer wheels, and sleek LED taillamps all come standard on the Ducati Diavel V4.

The power cruiser gets disc brakes, cornering ABS, launch control, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, 50 mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock system as standard equipment.

Powering the Ducati Diavel V4 is the 1,158cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve V4 Granturismo engine that produces a maximum output of 168 horsepower and 126 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quickshifter.
