The Apache RTR 165 RP bike was launched by TVS Motor Company on Thursday as part of its Race Performance (RP) series. The motorbike is priced at 1.45 lakh and will be restricted to only 200 units (ex-showroom). The TVS RP series takes influence from the company's racing heritage, which will be carried over into the TVS Apache motorbike series, with the Apache RTR 165 RP being the first of the collectable bunch.
TVS claims that the Apache RTR 165 RP is a powerful machine with a 164.9 cc single-cylinder 4 valve engine that produces 19.2 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm torque at 8,750 rpm. Customers will enjoy a precise and powerful riding experience thanks to the engine's pairing with a five-speed super-slick transmission.
The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP has a redesigned cylinder head with a 35 percent increase in intake and a two electrode spark plug to give best-in-class performance. The new model features 15% larger valves, which are controlled by Hi-Lift Hi-Duration cams and twin spring actuators for improved engine performance.
The bike also has a new bore stroke ratio of 1.37, which enables for free-revving all the way to the redline. A new dome piston has been added for a greater compression ratio. All of these variables contribute to the Race Performance motorcycle's performance and riding experience.
The TVS Apache RTR 1165 RP comes with a redesigned headlamp assembly that combines the distinctive Front Position light (FPL) with low and high beam operations. The motorbike has a 240 mm rear disc brake, which is said to be the first in the class.
