Two cricketers from Karnataka Premier League (KPL) side Bellary Tuskers, captain CM Gautam and Abrar Kazi are arrested for alleged involvement in the T20 league's match-fixing scandal.

CM Gautham has played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gautam has also played a Ranji match. Both the players were given Rs 20 lakh by the bookies for slow batting during the final of KPL 2019. The final match of KPL 2019 was played between Hubli and Bellary team.

Earlier in the Karnataka Premier League T20 tournament, 29-year-old batsman Nishant Singh Shekhawat was arrested by the Central Crime Branch Police in 2018 on charges of match-fixing. Shekhawat, who has played for several teams in KPL, is also accused of helping the bookies. Shekhawat used to give the team's inside information to the bookies.

In the fixing case in the Karnataka Premier League 2018 edition, former Bangalore Blasters opener, M Vishwanathan was also arrested by the Bengaluru Police. The police, after investigation, found that the bookies had asked Vishwanathan to score less than 10 runs in 20 balls in a match against the Hubli Tigers. He did the same and scored only nine runs in 17 balls. Police said Vishwanathan changed his bat to signal the bookie during the match and also folded the jersey.
