New Delhi: The corona vaccination campaign was launched on January 16 in the country, where about 2 lakh people were vaccinated on the first day. 240 health workers of the Indian Navy were also vaccinated against the corona. Of these, 100 frontline workers were vaccinated at INHS Ashwini (Hospital), Western Command, Mumbai.

40 health workers at INHS Kalyani of Eastern Command at Visakhapatnam and 100 health workers were also vaccinated at INHS Sanjivani (Hospital) of Southern Command at Kochi. In addition, the army's base hospital in the national capital and the headquarters of Western Command, Chandimandir (Panchkula) also organized vaccination programmes across the country. A total of 4000 vaccines have been given to the army for corona vaccination which began on January 16. The army's frontline workers, military doctors and para-medical staff, who were first deployed in Ladakh, were vaccinated.

As per the information, at least 3820 of these 4000 vaccines are for corona warriors (doctors etc.) deployed in Ladakh alone. According to reports, this is the first phase of vaccination. As the government begins to get the vaccine, vaccination of frontline workers posted in the second command will begin.
