Two more BJP leaders served notice for derogatory skit against KCR

HYDERABAD: Telangana police detained two more BJP leaders on Tuesday, while the party's state chairman Bandi Sanjay Kumar was issued a notice for allegedly insulting Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by organising a skit.
Police detained Rani Rudramma and Daruvu Yellanna, as well as issuing a notice to Sanjay Kumar. In connection with the charge filed against him, the state BJP president has been summoned to appear before a police officer.

Sanjay, who is also a Member of Parliament, has been served with a notice under the Criminal Procedure Act's Section 41 A. Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, a BJP leader, was detained on June 10. On the same day, he was granted bail by a judge.

At Hayathnagar Police Station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, a case was filed against Bandi Sanjay, Balakrishna Reddy, and others for indulging in hate speech, inciting hatred, and causing provocation for violence through an event organised by the BJP's cultural team on Telangana Formation Day (June 2).

Police booked Balakrishna Reddy, state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay, and others under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 114 (abettor present when offence is committed), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 505(2) (statements causing public mischief, promoting enmity) read with 109.
