Prayagraj: A shocking incident took place at Shringverpur under the Gangapar Nawabganj police station area of the district on Sunday evening. It is being told that two persons in the car were fired upon by the miscreants here and during this time one person was killed. The other person was seriously injured. The injured person is said to have been admitted to SRN Hospital.

Superintendent of Police (Gangapar) Abhishek Agarwal said, "Santosh Singh, a resident of Thana Sangramgarh in Pratapgarh district, informed the police that two persons opened fire on him at Shringverpur under Nawabganj police station.'' Giving more details in the case, he said Santosh Singh was coming towards Phaphamau in a car with his friend Harendra Mishra, meanwhile, in Shringverpur, two persons - Neeraj Singh and Dhiraj Singh - stopped his car and opened fire on him. Harendra Mishra (45 years) died on the spot soon after the incident, while Santosh Singh, who was injured in a bullet injury, has been admitted to SRN.

According to reports, the matter is related to a debate. In this case, Superintendent of Police (Gangapar) Abhishek Agarwal said that the family members of Santosh Singh have come from Pratapgarh, on whose complaint an FIR is being lodged. The post-mortem of the deceased is being conducted there. Apart from this, he has also informed that during interrogation Santosh Singh told that he had a dispute with Neeraj and Dheeraj Singh, the other side, over the election of sarpanch.
