In a bid to offer improved first and last mile connectivity as well as short-distance commutes, Uber today said that the Company deploys as many as 100 e-rickshaws on its network in Delhi city.
On the Uber app, commuters will be able to book the micro-mobility product from Tuesday onwards and the service can be availed on Delhi Metro's blue line stations such as Dabri Mor, ESI Basaidarapur, Janakpuri East and Uttam Nagar East, among others.
The company has deployed these e-rickshaws across 26 Delhi metro stations. The company officially quoted: - "As millions of Indians begin moving again, Uber aims to make urban commutes more affordable, efficient and eco-friendly, helping cities 'Build back better'. With multimodal service offerings like micro-mobility and public transit options, all in the Uber app, Delhi residents will now be able to complete their journey seamlessly,"
Uber further added that its latest service falls in line with its global pledge in making all rides totally emission-free by the year 2040 wherein it will employ zero-emission vehicles on its platform and integrate public transport with micro-mobility.
