Mumbai: Former Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said attacks on party workers will not be tolerated. On Friday, Uddhav Thackeray visited the party's Byculla office. Here he met Shiv Sena worker Baban Gaonkar, who was attacked by unidentified persons late on Thursday night.

Yamini Jadhav is an MLA from Byculla in South Mumbai, one of the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and has now joined Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's faction. After meeting the aggrieved worker, Uddhav Thackeray said that "the attempt of Shiv Sena workers to play with the lives of the workers will not be tolerated" If the police cannot punish the culprits, the Shiv Sena workers will do so. The police shouldn't get into politics. The split in the Shiv Sena also affected the workers and split them into different factions. Now the workers of both groups are fighting among themselves. Last month, several MLAs led by Eknath Shinde revolted, after which they moved to Surat, Guwahati and later to Goa. Eknath Shinde later formed the government with the BJP and Devendra Fadnavis also became the Deputy Chief Minister in this government.

Let us tell you that in 2019, the BJP and Shiv Sena contested the assembly elections together in alliance. After the landslide victory in the elections, the Shiv Sena broke ties with the BJP and formed the government with the Congress and the NCP, but after two-and-a-half years, minister Eknath Shind rebelled and wrote the script of the Uddhav government's departure from power by taking two-thirds of the MLAs along with him.
