Udta Punjab, the next starrer by Shahid Kapoor in which he play s foul-mouthed drug-addicted rockstar, has not been cleared for release by the Censor Board. The forthcoming film also featured Kareena Kapoor,Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh which is planned to hit the theater on June 17.

The expletive-laden dialogue is supposed to be why the film not been given a permit. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, one of the producers of Udta Punjab, will now appeal the choice.

Vikas Bahl (co-producer) said, "This film is adult. We should get an adult certificate. I think everything, if seen in the right context, will get the right judgement,"

In April, the Board passed the trailer of the film, which was received affectionately, barring a certain sum of criticism about the character of a Bihari migrant, played by Alia Bhatt.
