Youth already doing Ph.D. will also be able to apply for Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF). UGC has changed its guidelines. Under this, youth who have done a Ph.D. of 12 to 24 months will be able to apply for PMRF through lateral entry. While the youth doing research under PFRF will be given 70 thousand rupees every year in the first two years, 75 thousand in the third year and fourth year. In the fifth year, 80 thousand rupees are given annually. Till now there was only provision of direct entry for this. It has been changed to two options.

Now you can apply under direct entry as well as lateral entry. The application process is going to start from July. Admission will be given on the basis of the interview under lateral entry. Till now only the students of Central University, IIT, and IISc Bangalore were being given benefits under PMRF. Its scope has been extended. Along with all these institutions, all the institutions in the country have come in the top-25 in the ranking of NIRF, their students will also get the benefit of this scheme.

The youth of the industry will also get a chance
Under this scheme, along with increasing the corporate social responsibility of the industries, the youth working in the industries are being given an opportunity to encourage them towards research. From this year only the youth who have done research in five or six main subjects or themes will be given an opportunity, and soon the details will be released in detail.
